December Quotes

December 26;

Mommy; "We got you fizzy bubbles!"

Christopher; "Because me was good, I was a good boy!"

Mommy; "Yes you were a good boy! Well... most of the time!"

Christopher; "Sometimes me's good, and sometimes me's bad!"

Mommy; "Yes, that's true!"

December 29;

My son's waking words "Oh you got my Pirate's out!"

December 23;

My son just said " I forgot my boy toy!" i laughed so hard! My belly hurts from gut busting laughs!

Well, I used that phrase yesterday. Grandma & Grandpa Merkley ( Robert' Parents) got him a Happy Meal the other day. He got a "toy for a girl" with it and I told Robert to get him a "boy toy!" My mistake! "Daddy found my boy toy, look it's my boy toy!" gosh I'm really laughing hard!

December 22;

"Mommy we got you the Harry Potter movie!"
The little rat! Daddy was going to make it a surprise! But I love my son anyway!

December 20;

I'm lying in bed, my sweet boy comes in and lies down and brings his Teddy Bear.
He says he wants to lie down. Sometimes being a mommy is so sweet.

December 11;

"Mommy you can have the rest of my snack it will feel you better! It will help you feel better! It has energy in it!" My stomach hurts bad still, but him being so sweet lifts my spirit.

My son is Juvenile

The last few days my son has been saying some pretty crazy things.

I thought I'd share some with you.

Yesterday we were making Gingerbread Houses at a Family party.

He said; "I'm pooing." "I'm pooing this on."  I was like what?
He was trying to say he was putting this on, (the candy on the Gingerbread House Roof).

For the past few months Robert has been singing the main 2 lines of "Whoop There it is" and "Boom Shuck a Lucka"to try to be funny and make Christopher laugh. I told him I really dislike those songs and they are not
good songs. That he should be careful what he says or sings to a 3 year old because it will come back to him.
Well, turns out I was right!
This morning Christopher sings (more like shouts); "Poop Shuck a Lucka and SMACK YOUR BUTT!" And then smacks his bum. Needless to say I was shocked! I gave my husband the "I told you so!" look and disciplined my child. He should not be saying potty mouth things like that or behaving that way!
Needless to say, they were both in trouble!

On our way to the Aquarium today my son was being very loud in the car as I was driving.
I chimed in; "Christopher, if you be quiet you can hear yourself think!"
Christopher's reply; " Why would you tell me to talk to myself in my head?"
After I laughed I said; "Because it would help Mommy drive safe!"

Christopher; "Why is the Cop here?" We were at Noodles eating lunch.
"Is he giving someone a ticket? Is someone in trouble?"
Mommy; "No, honey, he has to eat lunch too!"

Hope these make you snicker like they did me!

Happy Holidays, happy Thursday & I  hope you are all getting ready for Christmas,
New Year's and all other Holidays your
Family Celebrates!

I want China!

"I'm not splashing with my hands, I'm splashing with my body!" He said this yesterday after his Dad told him no splashing in the tub.

"I want China! I want Chinahse! Pasgetti!" He wanted Lo Mein noodles. He doesn't eat the chicken, but loves the noodles and sometimes fancies a pork eggroll. He asks for China and Chinahse when he wants Chinese. It's quite funny.

"There's Mommy, Daddy and there's me!" Pointing at a slideshow of pictures I made of our family.

"Mommy, Mommy you're home! I missed you!" He shouted as I came home from school.

"My name is Woody and I'm a Cowboy, Rex's tail is a gun! *pchoo pchoo* " He said this while wearing his cowboy hat with a star on it and pretending his toy Rex is a gun.

Hope you are all having a great Season!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and whatever else you celebrate!

Thanks for reading!

Daddy's Making China!

Yesterday when I talked to my son he said; "Daddy's making China!" I had to laugh! I thought of China the Contintent, not China the dish. He was actually saying he wanted Chinese. Silly boy!

Today when he asked; "How many of the same things do you have on your phone?" I had to think for a minute. Shazam and Facebook are both light blue. So, everytime I Shazam a song, or go to Facebook, my son was thinking, are you just doing the same thing over again?

While I was on Facebook and he asked what I was doing, I said; "I'm on Facebook." He replied;
"I like SPACEBOOK!" Hilarious!

A commercial came on in the car today. He said, "I want singing!" I wonder where he learned that?
I really don't prefer talking on the radio unless it's something that is uplifting or intriguing to me! I love my son!

"Mommy I want that store! The yellow and red one!" I can't see it honey I'm driving.
"I want to go to the store with the Jingle Bells on it!" The Jingle Bells are in the song, they are instruments, it is not a place.
"I want to see the instruments!"
Well, you are going to hear me sing and there will be Jingle Bells and other instruments playing on Saturday!
"But, I want to sing with you!"
I love you honey, I don't think you know the words dear.

I love how much like me he is at times!

Yesterday;

Can I play Mario? I love you so much Daddy!? PWEAAAASE? PWEAASE?
Can I play Zelda? You are the best Daddy in the whole wide world!!!!!! PWEAAAASE?
Daddy (on both occasions) No, I don't think so.
Whining and crying ensues. I love how my son thinks he can get anything when he tries to manipulate us.
It doesn't work kid. He'll get it sometime!!!!

Hope you all had a great Holiday! We are in the Christmas mood in our home!
If anyone knows where to find a cute advent Calendar PRONTO I'd love to know!

Our Savior

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm thankful for hot cocoa and for my son and the silly things he does. He said 2 days ago; "Jesus made us" & "Jesus keeps us safe from the sharks!" I have an adventurous child!
I was explaining to him that Christmas is coming soon and even though it wasn't Thanksgiving yet, that Christmas is when we celebrate (are happy) because we remember when Jesus was born. And lived on the earth. I told him, "Jesus, was born as a baby, just like you were! Well, sort of." I didn't know how to explain miraculous conception to a 3 year old. He replied; "Jesus was a baby like me!"
Mommy; "You are not a baby anymore, you are a big boy! Did you know Jesus's Father is our Heavenly Father? He had a Mommy and Daddy on earth just like you, but, his literal and spiritual Father lives in Heaven." Jesus helped his Father make the Earth and he made us."
While, we were driving someone cut me off and I said, Mommy needs to turn the radio off so mommy can keep us all safe.
Christopher; "Is it Dangerous?" Mommy; "Yes."
Christopher; "Jesus keeps us safe!"
I am updating my family blog today too. So, if you'd like to read it go here;www.merkleyadventures.blogspot.com

November

I am in school and as you may have guessed the end of the term is nearing.
Therefore, I am uncommonly busy and want to go on vacation because my brain is tired.
I interviewed for a job and well, let's just say I'd be losing more than I was making, and I was never called back when I was told I would be. So, I'm really better off. But, I'm feeling the pressure of this time of year for sure. Anyhow, I wanted to share with you some of my son's adorable quotes and pictures.

Dirt Cupcake with earthworm. "I want that one!" At One Sweet Slice yesterday
Daddy time for a little right after nap today, he's watching Mario on the D.S.
A Box and a Boy, why do we buy him toys again?
Eating Noodles at Pei Wei with Chopsticks!
Swording with a stick in the snow!
                                                             Daytime Daddy/Son Time
                                                        Swording with his stick outside!

"Oh no! It's terrible! He doesn't have anything to get the monsters with!"

"I can FLY!" He jumps off the couch multiple times and falls on his hands and knees.

"That's so cool! Is that cool?"

"I want to break..." He says he wants to break various things when he is angry.

"Oh no! There are no more crackers! I need more crackers! OOOOOH:(!"

"Bad behavior! I'm being bad behavior!" He actually was being naughty. Insightful this one, and very observant.

To our waiter at Olive Garden;
"What's your name?" John.
"Do you live at Olive Garden?" Practically!
Mommy: He doesn't live here he just works here a lot.

"You are Mommy, but sometimes I call you Chelsea."

Mommy; You need to call me Mommy. You are the only one who can call me Mommy, besides Daddy.

"I can call you Chelsea sometimes." Oh dear it begins. I tried to set him straight and tell him what to call me but he wouldn't have it. So, I just let it go. Boys are hilarious.

"I call you Daddy, your name is Robert. I can call you Robert sometimes."

Daddy; You can call me Daddy.

"No, I can call you Robert sometimes."

"This is not flying, this is falling with style!" He exclaims as he jumps off the couch 3 times!

Happy Tuesday night!

Spiderman sprays ropes?

Mommy; “We are going home because it is time for night night. Mommy and daddy need to get ready for bed too.
Christopher:“I’m going to spray ropes at you like Spiderman!”
Mommy replies: "Spiderman has webs come out of his hands honey, he is part spider."
I say to Robert; “You have to give him points for imagination on that one! He’s going to spray ropes at us so he doesn’t have to go to sleep!”
Daddy: I’m going to tell you a Jake the Pirate story.
Christopher: “No, no, no the yellow Curious George shirt that matches your shirt!” It actually did match his Daddy’s shirt!
Daddy: Time to get out of the tub!
Christopher: "I want to stay in here for a couple of days!"

Have a great Thursday!
I have job interview tomorrow! Wish me luck.

He couldn't wait to go outside, I had to hurry and get his winter clothes on him after this!

He wanted to wear my scarf! "Look Mommy me's making prints' in the snow!"
We wanted to get him gloves yesterday they were all too big.
" Look, Snow!" "Mommy, you should try it, it's delicious!"
Sweetie, we don't eat snow it's yucky, it's not to eat.

                                                         "Look Mom, I'm Ice Skating!"
"I'm snowskating WEEEE! This is my trail and this is your trail Mommy!"
Mommy: Can I go on your trail? Christopher: "No, you go on your trail!"
"Snow skating, Snow Skating, Snow Skating!" "Me's making a line in the snow!"

As we were riding TRAX on Wednesday I said; "Christopher please be quieter not everyone wants to hear you talking the whole time, it's cute bet it get's old." Christopher replies; "I am getting old!"
And I giggle along with half of the train, I love my son!

Halloween Update!

To see different pictures than this blog; please see my other website-http://www.merkleyadventures.blogspot.com/

Today I can't really think of much that he said. He had a huge tantrum and it was one of those hard days.
It snowed today and Christopher and I both wore our boots and coats. It sleeted this morning and snowed small hail-like snow this evening. The weather was so nice last night for Halloween and the next day it's freezing!

We went to the Market today to get some essential foods. I was amazed that the day after Halloween it's already Christmas at Smith's in West Jordan, and most Retail Stores. What about Thanksgiving? It's one of my Favorite Holidays.

I hope all of you had a safe and Happy Halloween yesterday! And make sure you check your kids candy bags so they don't come up with some creepily dangerous items!
Here are some pictures from my phone from Halloween last night.

I was Maid Marian or a Medieval Princess
                                                             Robert was Robin Hood
                                                            Christopher was Superman!

His glow stick is his sword
                                                              I am swording you!
Yummy Apple, trick or treat find!
                                                             My sweet Superman!
                                                       Making Music with his straw!
                                                                          Cheese!

Living Things

My sweet and darling boy asked me so many questions on the ride home from his grandparents house tonight with me.

"Is that guy cutting you off?" Mommy; He almost did but we are safe. I need to be more careful what I say.

"Trees are living things, but stop signs aren't." Mommy; Yes, trees are living things but stop signs are not. I had told him that a few months ago. Amazing the things he remembers.
I also told him tonight, that the Moon is the reflection of the Sun. I explained to him that the Sun is behind the Moon and giving the light to the moon and asked him if he knew that. His response? "Yes."

"Are lights living things?" He was inquiring about the street lights on the road that lit our way home.
I replied; No lights are not living things. But, they were made by people a long time ago to help us see in the dark. So we can drive home.
And now we can turn on the lights in dark rooms to help us see, isn't that helpful? "Yes."

"Are houses living things?" No houses are not living things, but they are made by people.
"People are living things!" Yes. And people live in houses, like Mommy and Daddy and who else lives with us in our house?
"Me! Christopher lives in a house with Mommy and Daddy!" Yes,we all live in a house together.

Grandpa Joe and Grandma Cheryl gave him a stuffed Toy Monkey since he asked for one from Disneyworld. They went there this past week. His monkey resembles a backpack but it's feet and arms velcroe around Christoper's arms with the Monkey in the front or the back of him.

Grandpa Joe; "What is your Monkey's name?!" Christopher; "Kudo!"
Grandpa Joe; "What does a Monkey say?" Christopher; "Oooh Ooooh Ahhhh Ahhhh"
Grandpa Joe; "Looks like your ballon has just about had it." He got a balloon from their house that was getting old and losing air.
Mommy; It's losing helium.
Christopher; "Oooooh!:( Did it run out of gas?" I had to chuckle inside.
"That's what my car says, Did you run out of gas?"
Grandpa and Mommy (at different times, because Mommy laughed first) ; Yes it ran out of gas.
He knows what gas is because Daddy and I explained that it is special food for the car but only for the car so that it has energy to go. It's like our bodies, because when we need energy we put food in our bodies to help us have energy to play. He likes and understands that analogy.

"I'm Superman for Halloween tomorrow!"
"Robin Hood Robin Hood Robin Hood!" He's making up a song.
Mommy; What is Daddy for Halloween?
Christopher; "Robin Hood!"
Mommy; "What is Mommy going to be for Halloween tomorrow?"
Christopher; "A Princess!" I am Maid Marian, or a Medieval Princess.
Mommy; "Yes!" "What is Grandma Cheryl going to be for Halloween?"
Christopher; "A witch!"
Mommy; What is Grandpa Joe going to be for Halloween?
Christopher; *blank stare* "uhhhh."
Mommy; "Is Grandpa Joe going to be a Businessman? Or a nerd with glasses?"
Christopher; "Yes!"

I thought I'd share these gems before I forgot his priceless words!
Have a great rest of your Sunday Night! And Happy Halloween tomorrow!

Imaginary Snowballs

"Mommy I love you, yeah, yeah, yeah!" "I love my Mommy, I love my Mommy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!"
My son sang this as he was dancing for me earlier today! I love him oodles, the best charmer ever!;)
Robert taught him that song and that dance.

"It's not water time, it's juice time!" He said this after he woke up because it's daytime and he wanted juice, it's not night time when he has water!

He said all these yesterday and the day before;
"Look it's Daddy's Birthday Card! It's says Daddy Robert Merkley!"

Robert; "What's my full name?"

Christopher; "Daddy Robert!"

Mommy; Christopher, What's your Daddy's full name? You know it.

Christopher; "Grandpa Clark!"

Mommy; "No, that's my Daddy!"

Robert; My full name is Robert Blaine Merkley

Christopher; "Wobert Bwaine Merkwey!"

Robert; "What is Grandpa Joe's whole name?"

Christopher; He replies with a question mark face as if he's rebuttaling: "Daddy didn't you answer your own question?"

Robert; "My Daddy's full name is Blaine Joe Merkley".

Christopher; "Bwaine Joe Merkwey!"

"I'm playing catch with  snowballs!" He tells Mommy as he pretends to throw me 2 imaginary snowballs!
I say; Got it! Here you go! And throw them back to him.
Christopher; "I got it Mommy!" As he pretends to catch them.  Mommy; "Great job Christopher!"
I throw it again he says; "I got it again Mommy!" I reply; "Great Catch Christopher!"
Mommy; "I'm going to the Library!" Christopher; "To take my books back? Can I come too?"
Mommy; "No, I'm studying you stay here with Daddy."
Christopher; " But Daddy's boring!"

Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween Party tonight! Christopher was Superman!
I was Maid Marian and Robert was Robin Hood!
Corn bag toss; he got 2 out of 3!
Superman and Buzz Lighyear, these two are buddies!

                                                           A sulking Superman
My boy consented for taking pictures with us if he could go play musical chairs afterwards.
                                                           Mommy with Superman
Superman, Maid Marian and Robin Hood!
Superman and Batman! And Robert was joking he was Robin!

Pumpkin Bowling! He hit quite a few!

                                                            Musical Chairs!

Happy Smile, when he got out he cried so hard.
He was still trying to figure out the game.
                                                                   Freeze Dancing
He loves to groove! That's my boy!

I have to share a few things he's said the last couple of days. This morning I was feeling very nauseated and not doing well, I had a bad headache and a really hurty tummy. But later on today I felt better.
He walks in and says; "If you have num nums it will feel you better!" He can be so sweet sometimes!

Later tonight he said; "I gotta go do my job and get the bad guys out there!"
He had his superman costume on and was pretending to punch, kick and fight bad guys.
He was pointing to go outside and get the bad guys out there.

Last night we were driving home from dinner with Cheryl and Joe at Bombay House.
I had told him that the Sun, Mountains and Trees go to sleep when it gets dark.
Therefore, he replied;
"Goodnight sun! Goodnight Trees, mountains, red things (I said, honey those are leaves), goodnight leaves, goodnight sky!"

This hilarious quote happened yesterday.
Christopher: "Check it out ladies!" as he puts his right leg up and grins ear to ear! Quite a few laughs from me. "Is that what you tell the girl's at school?" "Yeah!" he repeats it because i laugh so hard every time he does! Haha! He keeps saying it and laughing with me. Sometimes I have no idea where he hears these phrases or comes up with them. But, they are sure funny!

This morning; "Look this diaper matches the Luigi one daddy put on me!" It does."Is President Dorf on the penny? They match!" President Lincoln the President of the United States a long time ago, is on the penny. He showed me 2 pennies. He knows they match.  I think he meant President Uchtdorf in our Church 1st Presidency. It's a
hard name to say!

This funny one happened 2 days ago.
Robert: "Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to eat, good when they're fresh, good when they're old. Good when they're hot, good when the're cold."
Christopher: "They're not good cold! They have to be warm!"

The Ward Halloween Party was fun tonight! An 11 year old boy told my husband he was lucky to be married to such a beautiful woman! I said oh thank you and gave the boy an appreciative hug.
I told him it was good for my husband to be reminded how lucky he is.
My husband came home and told me he has competition now! Haha! He was teasing of course!

Hope you all had a great Friday night!

Love, Chelsea
